Traveling with children changes what you look for in a place to stay. Space matters more than spectacle. A pool you can see from the kitchen matters more than a long list of facilities. Most of all, you want somewhere the days can find their own rhythm. Below you will see the family villas in Bali located at the Vesica Villas Resort in Amed.

Family villas with resort services

At Vesica Villas Resort in Amed, on Bali's north-east coast, each villa is a home of its own, with three or four bedrooms, a private pool and a Guest Relations team who look after the details. Here is what a family stay with us looks like.

Why Amed suits families

Amed is a string of traditional fishing villages where green hills fall towards the Bali Sea. It is quieter than the south of the island, with less traffic and a slower pace, so it suits families who want calm rather than crowds.
The water is the main draw. Coral reefs sit close to the shore, and on calm days children can see fish in the shallows with just a mask and snorkel.
Mornings start early here: the coast faces north-east, so the sun rises over the sea, and an early walk along the beach before breakfast is easy with young children.
Our guide to Amed Beach on Bali's East Coast covers where to swim, and Discover Amed, Bali explains how to get here and when to come.

Holiday villas with room for everyone

All seven villas sit in a quiet valley above the sea, each with its own private pool, ocean views and four bathrooms. You can compare them on The Villas page.

Umah Sukah: a garden and fire pit

Umah Sukah stands on the highest plot at the resort, with three ensuite bedrooms and open living on both floors. It sleeps six.

Outside, a walled tropical garden surrounds a fire pit and barbecue, ready for evenings under an open sky.

It's a lovely spot for families who like a little room to roam. Children can explore the garden while the grown-ups linger over coffee on the terrace, and as the afternoon cools, the fire pit makes a natural gathering place for stories before bed.

Twin beds with olive pillows opening to patio, pool, and lounger through black-framed doors at Angin Laut at Vesica Villas Resort in Amed

Angin Laut: twin beds on request

Angin Laut has three ensuite king bedrooms and an eight-metre private pool. It sleeps six.

The master is upstairs, and the two guest rooms are downstairs, opening onto the pool terrace and garden.

One guest room can be set up with twin beds, which works well for brothers and sisters.

The downstairs rooms open straight onto the pool terrace, so younger children are never far from the grown-ups.

Villa Svara: four bedrooms with a bunk room

Villa Svara is our four-bedroom villa and the natural choice for a bigger family or two families together.

There are three ensuite king bedrooms and a bunk room that sleeps two adults or four children, for up to 10 guests.

Long lunches by the pool and lazy afternoons come easily when the whole family is under one roof.

Soft neutrals, sage and fawn, and cool marble floors keep it calm, even with a full house.

Aman Amed: a media room for evenings in

Aman Amed pairs an upstairs master suite, with its own balcony and valley-to-sea views, with two king guest rooms below that open onto the pool terrace. It sleeps six.

There is an eight-metre pool, a shaded bale day-bed beside it for afternoon naps, a covered barbecue terrace, and an air-conditioned media room for film nights after a day in the sun.

The bale day-bed is made for quiet afternoons while little ones nap, and the covered terrace keeps barbecues going whatever the weather.

Family villas with resort services

Staying in a private villa doesn't mean doing everything yourself. Each villa is your own home in Amed, with a resort team close at hand to cook, tidy and plan, so you can spend your time together rather than on the details.

Dining at your own pace

Meals are prepared by our chef in the resort kitchen and served at your villa, whenever suits your family.

That could be breakfast on the terrace, an early supper for little ones or a barbecue by the pool as the afternoon cools.

Take a look at our dining menu, and know that dishes can be adapted to your family's tastes.

  • Breakfast: children up to 9 eat free with each adult breakfast order, and children aged 10 to 15 pay half price.
  • Barbecue and Seafood Barbecue: children up to 6 eat free, and children aged 7 to 15 pay half price. Barbecues are for a minimum of 4 guests and need ordering by 19:00 the day before.
  • À la carte: a short menu of Western, Indonesian and Balinese dishes, with children's dishes included

Barbecues are served from 16:00, so the late afternoon can drift from pool to plate. See all the dining options on our Guest Services page.

Housekeeping

Your villa is cared for every day. Housekeeping keeps rooms fresh, an evening turndown readies the bedrooms for the night and the mini-bar is restocked daily.

You get the privacy of your own home with none of the chores, so the holiday stays a holiday.
