The Liberty was originally a WWII shipwreck, however it has since become a popular scuba diving location due to its jaw-dropping abundance of corals and large schools of fish. Divers of all levels flock to this area of natural underwater beauty.
The ship rests from 12m’s down to 34m’s and when the visibility is ‘on’, it is unmistakable to work out the topography of the ship. You can even see where the bomb went off that inevitably sank the ship.
There are two large amphorae resting in shallow water (15m to 20m) that are definitely worth seeing. As well as some other interesting artifacts scattered around like rusted anchors and propellers.

Best season to go Scuba diving in Bali
Bali is one of the world’s top scuba diving destinations. The area’s diverse coral reefs, vibrant marine life, and warm tropical waters make it an ideal location for exploration.
Best time of year to visit?
The best time to go scuba diving in Bali is dependent on the type of experience you are looking for. The dry season (April-September) provides the most consistent conditions and visibility. These months are typically marked by calm seas and clear visibility, making them ideal for taking advantage of everything Bali has to offer underwater.
Scuba diving during the wet season
The wet season in Bali (October-March) can still provide excellent scuba opportunities in a variety of ways. Whilst visibility may be slightly lower than during the dry season, rains on land compensate with increased levels of plankton in the water. This means that the big boys come out to play so that Manta rays, sharks, whale sharks, Mola Molas, and sea turtles will be more common during these months.
If you don’t mind getting wet in order to see more wildlife, the wet season could be a great option for you. However, it is good to note that between the months of October to January, temperatures can drop to 18 degrees. The benefit of this is if you’re in the water in these temperatures, you’ll have a significantly better chance of seeing Mola molas.
Both the dry and wet seasons are fantastic times to dive in Bali. However, if you want consistent, reliable conditions with good visibility it is better to stick to the dry season (April-September).
